Get to know the creator of Into the Wild

As I stand on the sun-kissed hills of Ikaria, the gentle breeze carries the whispers of my past. I am a refugee, an Iranian who fled my homeland in search of safety and a new beginning. The journey was long and arduous, filled with uncertainty and fear. I remember the sleepless nights, the endless questions, and the weight of uncertainty. But Ikaria’s tranquil beauty captivated me, and I knew I’d found my haven.

I recall the degrees I pursued, the dreams I chased, and the struggles I overcame. The memories of my homeland still linger, but Ikaria’s warmth and hospitality have helped me heal. I’ve poured my heart into building a new life, and my passion project, Into the Wild retreat and accommodations, was born. With every stone laid, every beam polished, and every room furnished, I poured a piece of myself into this haven.

When I’m not welcoming guests to my retreat, I tend to my garden, where olive trees, herbs, and vegetables thrive. I take pride in harvesting my own olives and producing homemade olive oil, rich in flavor and aroma. The process is therapeutic, connecting me to the land and its rhythms. I also work with my hands, crafting and building with care. Construction is an extension of my creativity, allowing me to shape and mold the physical space.

One of my greatest passions is sharing my love for macrame with others. On my property, I host workshops where guests can learn the art of knotting and cord-making. Together, we weave gemstones into beautiful necklaces, each one a testament to the beauty of imperfection. As we work, I share my story, and they share theirs. In these moments, connections are forged, and hearts are opened.

Love has also found its way into my life. Here on the island, I met someone special – a kind and gentle soul from Israel. We fell deeply in love. Together, we welcomed a child into universe, and though we’ve faced challenges, our love didn’t remain unshakeable and became a lesson of life which hopefully we both take it with acceptance. I’m sure that one day I’ll be able to meet my child for the first time.

Through my experiences, I’ve discovered a sense of purpose and belonging on this beautiful island. The land, the people, and the pace of life have all contributed to my growth and well-being. I’ve found solace in the simple things – the sound of the river, the scent of olive groves, and the warmth of the sun. My story is one of resilience, passion, and hope. I invite you to experience the serenity of Ikaria, to breathe in the fresh air, and to find your own peace in the wild.

Sending you lots of love and positive vibes 🌻
